The Trapdoor

Criticism is like a trapdoor.  You lean on it, fall in, and don’t know how to get out.  It’s so easy to live our lives being critical of others. Social media makes it easy with just a scroll or swipe.  We judge everything from hair and makeup to medical advice and political commentary.  By noon, we’ve played the role of judge, sentenced people, and banged our self-righteous gavels countless times.  Judging others not only causes harm to the victims, but keeps us trapped in a revolving door of negativity. Stop! Get out! And don’t fall for the trapdoor anymore. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.  Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.  Forgive, and you will be forgiven” (Luke 6:37).
